When done properly with good aftercare, waxing actually causes fewer ingrown hairs than shaving. Shaving cuts hair at an angle creating sharp edges that curl back into skin. Waxing removes hair from the root, so regrowth has a natural tapered end less likely to become ingrown.³

Pricing is equal for all genders: $50 for full Brazilian. Many men choose Brazilian waxing for hygiene, athletic performance, aesthetics, or personal preference.

Hair should be about 1/4 inch long (approximately the length of a grain of rice, or 2-3 weeks of growth after shaving). This gives the wax enough to grip without being uncomfortably long.

If hair is too short, wax won't adhere properly and removal will be incomplete. If too long, it can be more painful and may need trimming first (which we can do during your appointment).

Recommendation: Stop shaving 2-3 weeks before your appointment for best results.

Brazilian wax results typically last 3-6 weeks, depending on your individual hair growth cycle. Hair grows in three phases (anagen, catagen, telogen), and waxing removes hair in the active growth phase.²

Bikini wax ($38): Removes hair along the bikini line (sides and top) where a swimsuit would show, leaving everything else natural. Clean, tidy appearance without full removal.

Brazilian wax ($50): Removes all or nearly all hair from the entire intimate area including front, back, labia/scrotum, and between the buttocks. You can choose to leave a small strip or triangle at the front (landing strip) or go completely bare (sometimes called a Hollywood wax).

To minimize ingrowns:

• Exfoliate gently once or twice a week starting one full week after waxing (2+ days recommended for chemical exfoliants)
• Keep skin moisturized but not overly oily
• Avoid tight clothing for 24-48 hours post-wax
• Book regular appointments every 4-6 weeks so hair grows back in sync
• Never pick or squeeze — if ingrowns occur, gentle exfoliation usually resolves them

Before your appointment:

• Stop shaving 2-3 weeks before (hair needs to be 1/4 inch long)
• Gently exfoliate the area 24-48 hours beforehand
• Avoid caffeine and alcohol on the day of your wax (increases sensitivity)
• Shower before your appointment for hygiene and comfort
• Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
• Take an over-the-counter pain reliever 30-60 minutes before if desired (ibuprofen or acetaminophen)
• Try to schedule when you're not menstruating if possible (though we can work around it with a tampon/cup if needed)

Proper aftercare ensures best results and minimizes irritation:

• First 24-48 hours: Avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, intense exercise, tight clothing, perfumed products, and sun exposure/tanning
• Wear loose, breathable cotton underwear and clothing for 24-48 hours
• Avoid applying perfume, deodorant, or harsh chemicals to the area for 24 hours
• Gently exfoliate starting 48 hours chemically or 7 days physically after waxing; continue 2-3 times weekly to prevent ingrowns
• Keep the area clean and moisturized with fragrance-free products
• Don't touch or scratch — hands carry bacteria that can infect open follicles

We use both hard wax and soft wax depending on the area, your hair type, sensitivity level, and personal preference.

Hard wax is typically preferred for skin sensitivities as it adheres only to hair (not skin), making it gentler on sensitive areas. It's ideal for coarse hair and delicate skin.

Soft wax with strips can be more efficient for larger areas with finer hair coverage and acts as an excellent exfoliant.

During your consultation, we'll discuss which option is best for you and can customize the approach based on your comfort and how your skin responds. Many sources claim hard wax is less painful, but in practice we've found it varies from person to person.

Brazilian waxing is sometimes referred to by other names:

• Hollywood wax: Another term for a completely bare Brazilian (no hair left anywhere)
• Full Brazilian: Same as standard Brazilian — complete intimate area with option to leave or remove front styling
• French Wax: A variation of the Brazilian where everything is removed except a small strip or triangle in the front (often called a French landing strip or pubic triangle).
• Manzilian: A term some use for men's Brazilian waxing (though we personally dislike the gendered terminology and simply call it Brazilian waxing for all genders)
